Happy Monday

Hope everyone's starting their week great!

We truly appreciate and thank each and every one of you who joined us last week. It's always a pleasure to see how many talent there are in the card making world!

We're so excited to feature our Top 5 from Sketch 24.

Anthea
(Live Life Beautifully)

Beverley
(Little Shop of Crafts)

Brenda
(Sweet Paper Treats)

Claudia
(Scrapclaud)

Giovana
(A Planet to Praise and Craft)

For those of you who are new here at Card Patterns and might be wondering.. How do we pick our Guest Designer?
Each week, 1 of our team picks her top 5. Everyone vote for their favorite and second most favorite. There are 8 designers and 5 picks so our ratio is 8:5. Sometimes, if 1 or 2 is on vacation, we do get a tie. Whoever had the most second vote gets the spot. Picking top 5 is bitter sweet experience. There's always more than great 5 cards to pick.

Having said this... from next week (August), we will be picking 6 cards instead of 5. This should be more exciting!

On to our winner for the Guest Designer spot.... please join us and congratulate

Anthea
(Live Life Beautifully)

Aside from the little details, we love how she used different patterns of paper yet they all coordinated beautifully. From a simple sketch, she turned it to a sweet stunning card.

Anthea, kindly send us an e-mail so we could send you the sketch for next week.

And to our winner of Odd Bird Planet's Fairy Tale Kit. This kit has lots to offer. Not just stamps, or cardstock or patterned paper but a lot of trinkets too! Such a treat! The lucky lady is:

Janice Webb
Sunnyside of Crafting

Janice, kindly send us an e-mail so we could get these goodies to you.

Don't forget to check us every Monday! Who knows, you might be our Guest Designer or the winner of our weekly sponsored prize!

Sketch 25 is due on Friday, July 31. Hope you could join us when you have a chance!

Wishing a great week ahead of you.

Do you remember the lovely card last week? You'll see the gifted woman behind it. We take pleasure welcoming:

Here's a short info about Heidi:

My name is Heidi Downey and I was so excited to hear my card has been chosen. I started cardmaking about a year ago, which I guess is ironic as I always declared that I “don’t do cards…” And now I regularly participate in card challenge blogs, own an online stamp shop and am a guest DT. I love challenge blogs, they really inspire/motivate me to create and Card Patterns certainly tops the list. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of the team this week, I certainly had a blast with the sketch this week (with a little pressure thrown in for good measure).

And another gorgeous card from Heidi. You can visit her blog HERE for more inspiration.

I would like the world to know how proud I am of these designers. They keep on surprising me, not only with their keen eye for creating but also their 110% support and help. I'm fortunate to be surrounded with great people like these guy and gals.

Here are the artistic expressions of our team.

Earlier this week, we announced our Guest Designer Spotlight winner. Give it up for Eva Dobilas!

Getting to know Eva:

"My name is Eva Dobilas and I live in Southern California. I have been
scrapping/making cards for a little over 10 years and I love sketches, so I
was naturally drawn to CardPatterns. I love the inspiration here and was so
happy my card was chosen, so I get to play along with the very talented DT.
Thank you again and sure hope you like my card as much as I loved making
it."

Look how Eva transformed this sketch into such an adorable work of art!

Personally, summer is the best time to create Christmas/holiday cards. Especially if you have tons to give or mail to relatives and friends.
Let's do the math, if you create 1 Christmas card from our sketches from today until December 12 (just nice to mail out those cards), you'd make about 27 Christmas cards!
So do you need more than 27 cards? If yes, you should start now! :)

Eva Doblias

and of course.... not to mention our witty and talented team! Let's start with:

Laurel

Kris

Carla

Fiona

Renée

Tracy

Peter

Michelle

And now, for our bonus sketch designed by ubber talented Kris Swain!

And here's an adorable card created by Kris.

We look forward you joining us for another great week! Get a chance to win the gift certificate from Shortcuts and a Guest Designer spotlight!
