Our talented guest designer for this week is

Getting to know Amy a little better!
I've been happily married for nearly 10 years and have two wonderful kids
that are 6 and 3 years old. I have been a SAHM for the better part of 6
years and I am super excited to start "working" again. I have been a graphic
designer for 15 years and started my own business when my daughter was first
born almost 7 years ago. In 2004 we moved 3000 miles from our family and
friends for my husband's work had another child - long story short - the
business was put on the backburner. BUT during that time, I discovered
scrapbooking, and I've been hooked ever since! Now my youngest is now off to
preschool in September - so it's time for me and I'm diving into blogging
and scrapping full force!! :)

Click on Amy's name to go to her blog. Pay her a visit and join us in congratulating her!

Sketch 29 but not with cards!

Yes you read it right! The team didn't do any cards this week. We wanted to highlight our heart boxes which is among the many great cutting files by our sponsor Cutting Cafe.

Cutting Cafe offers a wide variety of printable stamps, cutting templates, invitations, shaped cards and much more at a very affordable price. Regina is so generous that she is going to give away not 1, not 2 but......

WIN 3 FREE sets of your choice
from Cutting Cafe!

Of course we still have a sketch for ya all. You don't need that extra tools or specialty embellishments to create a card from this sketch. You can replace the heart with a flower, a butterfly or if you don't have swirl rhinestones, you can stamp it a swirl image if you have one or paper pierce a swirl shape. There are sooo many possibilities so don't feel you're tied up with a drawing in an image!

We have a fun & talented Guest Designer for you this week! Please join us in welcoming.

Getting to know Heidi a little better!

I am almost 25 years old (August 29th) and am married to a wonderful and hilarious man named Luke. We have a 9 month-old daughter named Adelle and live in Kansas! I have loved paper for about 10 years now and just this past Christmas, I decided to make cards for all of my family and have been HOOKED on card making ever since! I try to be a frugal crafter, so card making is the perfect way to make the good stuff stretch! I am so excited to be the guest designer this week and can't wait to see all of the finished products! Thanks!

Advance Happy Birthday to you Heidi!

Despite the time constriction due to wrong date that was given to her (sorry Heidi!) She managed to pull this sketch and the box template around and rocked it! Yeah!!!

Don't you just love this woven ribbon that she put together, sewed and cut out to create a heart shape? How creative! More details on her BLOG.

These heart boxes are very useful! You can fill it with Halloween treats, Christmas sweets or even have a little something for your child's teacher now that most schools have started! You can never go wrong with them. Perhaps, once purchased, you can print them as many times as you want!

Our team did a fabulous job showing you how to work around the sketch.

Sketch 28 & Some News

We're excited to bring a brand new sketch to you this week and of course a fresh talented face! And so many news to tell ya all!

Our sketch may be oriented as perfect square but it's all entirely up to your interpretation which we can't wait to see!

Guess who's back to sponsor us? The team were spoiled by My Grafico this week. We used their products Mix and Match Stems and Birdies Stamps.

We have a very talented designer for you this week. Her blog is definitely worth the look, so pay her a visit her and join us in welcoming.

Getting to know Julia a little better!

Hi! I’m Julia Stainton from Ontario Canada. I love scrapbooking and card making and have been crafting in some manner, all my life. My life is busy with five children, my hubby and our new puppy. I’m a product designer for Cornish Heritage Farms and enjoy working in this industry. Thanks so much Card Patterns for choosing my design. I’m thrilled to have found your site and fabulous sketches.

Here is Julia's beautiful interpretation of the sketch.

Before we continue with the rest of the design team's card, some news first!

One member of our Card Patterns family is leaving us today to continue focusing on his work and studies. We will surely miss his fun, fresh and funky style! We're wishing Peter all the best on his future endeavor!

Here's what Peter has to say about his journey with Card Patterns.

Hi everyone,

My time at Card Patterns is already done now. It has been a very exciting time. Every week another sketch, every week another kind of material. It has been fabulous to be able to inspire other people with my cards. And also to see how you all did respond to it with working it out. Because there has been so many wonderful results with it, it also gave me a lot of inspiration too.

Especially I do want to thank Card Patterns for giving me the opportunity to be a member of their Design Team. I really did enjoy the time. All the other DT-members, thanks so much for your inspiration, you all made magnificent cards, every week again. Just great!!

Of course I'm not quitting scrapping, so you can just follow my blog anytime. Despite being busy with my study and my work, I do try to scrap as much as possible. Although I cannot show it right away at that moment, because mostly my work is meant for the other magazines.

I do wish everybody a lot of joy and pleasure with all the sketches of Card Patterns.
For me? I'll stay focused on them too at anytime.

XOXO Peter

Although we are sad that Peter is leaving, the rest of the design team is extending until December this year!! One of the changes that we announced few weeks before. From today, our DT call will be 2x a year and each term would be for 6 months. Watch out, December is already around the corner and we will announce the new DT call.

And on another lighter note, we are adding a new member of our family! She's a familiar face to many of you. She has been one of our Guest Designer before. We are so happy to welcome:

For those of you who has never met Nina, here's a little info about her.

My name is Nina and I'm a Filipino-American now living in beautiful Croatia. I'm married to a wonderful man and mom to three sweet girls. I'm new in the craft blogging community and have enjoyed making friends and participating in different challenges, Card Patterns being one of my favorites.

I never knew I had an artistic side until a friend gave me a box of supplies as a going away gift when my hubby and I moved to Croatia. As soon as I opened that box, I started a love affair with cardmaking. Just recently, I'm excited that one of my dreams has come true - to become a stamp illustrator and paper designer for There She Goes and Gina K Designs. God has blessed me beyond my expectations and for that I am eternally grateful.

Click on Nina's picture or click HERE to visit her blog.

Here hoping to inspire you with the team's interpretation of the sketch. Look around, see how we all twisted it a bit somehow. We really can't wait to see what you all come up with this one!
