New Design Team

Today we're happy to announce to you our new hand-picked design team for July-December 2011. These ladies have played along with our sketches for a while, been our guest designers, left comments on your blogs, and just all-around supported Card Patterns in so many ways.

A big welcome to these talented designers. We're excited to have them on our team!

"Hi! I’m Carla Suto. I currently live in Chapel Hill, NC with my husband of 23 years and our two darling cat children, but we will be moving to Birmingham, AL in July. I have been crafting as long as I can remember, but I only started cardmaking about 3 years ago when a friend introduced me to stamping. From then on, I was totally hooked! I’ve made so many wonderful friends through crafting and blogging and I look forward to making even more here! I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Card Patterns Design Team!"

Elise Durenberger: Mamacow Creations

"Howdy friends! My name is Elise Durenberger and I am your friendly, neighborhood paper-craft ADDICT! I have been cavorting here in the land of blog for a few years now, and POSITIVELY cannot believe I had a crafty-life prior to the privilege of participating in challenges and paper play with the likes of you ALL! {WHAT FUN!} It still amazes me that I have friends, literally, throughout the world!

In addition to my paper crafty PURSUITS, I'm a MOM! Wife and Ranch Girl... ur... uh... WOMAN. I have a degree in Fine Art from the University of California Davis, so when I can pry myself away from all of my wonderful blog obligations and fun, I PAINT! Specializing in Animal Portraits, local landscape and vintage imagery, I struggle to maintain a creative and personal balance... {Sound familiar?} - BUT it's ALL GOOD! Since Card Patterns has been a sparkling GEM of creative inspiration since early in my bloggy career, I am so honored to have been invited to be a part of their AMAZING team! I hope I can share my love of the
craft as generously as it has been shared with me - I'm SURE gonna have FUN trying! Yee Haw!"

Kristii Lockart: Sincerely Yours

"Hi, I’m Kristii Lockart and I’m paper crafting addict from Southwestern Montana! I work in our local High School Library during the day, and by night, you will find me creating like a mad woman in my basement studio. I am 47 years young, and an empty-nested mom of three. My kids, Beth who is married to Matt, Heidi, and Ben are the joy of my life. I have been married to my sweetie for 27 years this June. He is the sweetest man who supports this addiction I have with paper wholeheartedly. Papercrafting is my therapeutic outlet, and I like to tell my hubby that I’m sure that it’s way cheaper than seeing a therapist. I absolutely love to design and I’m very proud to have designed for kit clubs and manufacturers alike. You will find my work in both Cards and Paper Crafts Magazines. I am completely thrilled to be a part of the Card Patterns Design Team and I look forward to sharing my passion with you."

Therese Broman: Tesas Scrap

"Hi! My name is Therése but I'm usually called Tesa here on the 'net. I'm married with a great guy and we have a son who is ten. We live in a small village in Sweden in a house with a garden that is way too big. My addiction to scrapbooking and cardmaking started back in 2007 and is still growing. Since a couple of years rubber stamping is my thing. Looove the inky fingers and messy work place with embossing powder all around! I'm super excited to be a part of the amazing Card Patterns team. It's a great honor and it will be sooo much fun!"

Dahlia Memories

I am so honored to be guest designer for Card Pattern Challenges sketch 121.  I discovered the amazing world of paper crafts a few months ago when I decided to help my preschooler make his valentines cards instead of buying.  I love the process of card making that helps bring out my inner creative spirit.   I love all aspects of paper crafts – color, pattern, embellishments, and techniques.  I am eclectic in my approach, and my styles vary from clean and simple to shabby chic.  Now, I have become a voracious reader of the online world of card making blogs. I feel so privileged to be part of this inspiring community!

Here's Chunyuan's take on the sketch.

Here's our rocker designers who I think rocked this sketch!

Hi, I’m Jill Gillespie and I am so honored to be the guest designer for Sketch 120! I’m a native San Diegan from a close-knit family, none of whom has any interest in crafting. That’s why I am so grateful for the card making/blogging community, and all of the amazing support we share! I started paper crafting early, elementary school in fact. I have elaborate scrapbooks starting in the 6th grade. I’m wondering now if I was thinking that someday there would be a Jill Gillespie Museum and such things would be needed? LOL! (Although I have worked in a museum for 8.5 years now, so it was good practice!)

And then in 2008, I discovered stamping and card making. I’m a fairly slow crafter, so the quicker gratification of card making appealed to me immediately. I’m told I don’t really have a set style—which is fine with me as I love the challenge of trying new things. Color is my favorite aspect of paper crafting. Choosing and combining the colors of the papers, inks, and embellishments are like heaven to me. When I’m not able to get my craft on, I love to read, watch reality TV, hang out with friends and family, and last but not least . . . visit all your wonderful blogs out there!

We love your beautiful card, Jill. It's just perfect as we kick off summer!

(I Said I'd Never Have A Blog But...)

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 19 and a half month old daughter.  I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night.

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together.  A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since.  I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over!!

I currently design for Purple Onion Designs stamps.

Click on Jennifer's name to go to visit her blog - and leave her some love! Here's Jennifer's take on the sketch.
