Sketch 172- Our Final Sketch

Thank you all for your kind comments on our post last week. We hadn't thought of "passing the torch" onto a new set of crafters, but this is something we are now considering and working on.

So- the only thing I can say is I hope you'll check back for news now & then in case we do!

I can't believe it's come down to this- our final sketch! Thank you all for sticking with us these past several years. You mean the world to us!

Broni Holcombe: Splashes of Watercolor
I’m a mother to 2 beautiful daughters, and a Nana to 3 young grandsons and an adorable granddaughter.  I live in beautiful South Carolina where I’m an accountant by day for a major beverage distributor.  I spend as much of my non-working time as possible in the paper-crafting world…either creating or sharing and learning online.

I started stamping in 2005 and was honored with being chosen as a member of the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen design team a short 2 years later.  Coloring is my passion, and Copic markers are my “weapon” of choice.

When I’m not crafting (or online!), you can find me playing with the grandchildren, kayaking, swimming or planning my next trip to the beach!

And here is Broni's gorgeous take on our final sketch:

I'd like to take a minute just to thank, not only our current design team, but all of our past design team members. These ladies (and 1 man if you can remember that far back!) have provided inspiration for you week after week and that is part of what made this blog such a success. Thank you for your commitment and sacrifice and endless creativity!!

And now, let's focus on our design team one last time:

There is no link tool this week- play along with us just for fun. You can link your card in the comments section if you wish.

Also, just a note to our dear readers...We want to visit your blogs to see your gorgeous takes on the sketches. We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider turning off (disabling) word verification on your blog to help ensure we leave a comment for you! Thank you!

Sketch 171 & Announcement

It is with great sadness that I make this announcement. After much thought & discussion, Michelle and I have decided to close the Card Patterns blog at the end of June.

As you may or may not know, Michelle just gave birth a few weeks ago to a beautiful baby girl, her third child. We are both busier than ever with our families, work commitments, crafty goodness, etc. and cannot dedicate the time to Card Patterns that it deserves.

This blog has been going steadily now since 2008. We have had an amazing group of design team members, guest designers, and sponsors that have helped this blog to grow into what it is today. It really has become part of our lives and it will be missed by Michelle & I when it's gone. But, as the story goes- all good things must come to an end. We feel that CP has run its course and it is time for the both of us to let it go.

There are many other wonderful sketch blogs out there- some old, and some new. You can always visit here and use our Sketch Database (found in the sidebar) to see our old sketches if you want to.

Thank you, again, to our wonderful readers, followers, players, guest designers, design team members, and sponsors- this has been an amazing ride and NONE of this would have been possible without YOU.

Love & hugs,
Michelle & Tracy

Despite today's announcement, we still have a great sketch for you. Please note that there will no longer be any Super 6's picked from these sketches. Play along with us just for fun.

Meredith MacRitchie: A Delightful Waste of Time
Hi! My name is Meredith, and I live in the Vancouver area of beautiful British Columbia in Canada. I am married to my best friend, and I am a stay at home mum to my two little girls. I first discovered paper crafts when I created my own wedding invitations in 2006, and quickly started building my collection. I started out making cards, but once my first daughter was born, I started scrapbooking as well. Now, paper crafting is a complete obsession! Thank you so much to Card Patterns for having me this week, I've really enjoyed being your guest!

And here is Meredith's lovely take on the sketch:

We would love to see you participate! Simply link up your card in the comments section of this post. There is no deadline for entry as there will be no Super 6 picked. Play along with us just for the fun of it.
